Fidelity to the source
A work’s original publication year and the year of a particular edition are not interchangeable. The expanded third edition of Nightingale’s Notes on Hospitals from 1863 is not treated as the 1859 edition. Individual quotations and illustrations require checks of the exact reference and applicable rights.
